Implementation of fan cooling tower motor control system using PSTX ABB PSTX for JSC “Zaporizhstal” to optimize and improve the efficiency of energy processes at the metallurgical plant.
The cooling tower, as part of the cooling system, plays an important role in ensuring the normal operation of production. In this project, the existing cooling tower fan motor control system was replaced with a more modern and intelligent system based on ABB’s soft-start device, which significantly reduces the mechanical and electrical loads when starting the motors, thus extending their service life and reducing energy consumption at start-up. The system contributes to optimizing production processes as well as significantly reducing operating costs.
Our team developed, delivered, integrated and customized the control system based on PSTX device, adapted the system to the specific requirements of JSC “Zaporizhstal”, which ensures its reliability, compatibility with existing processes, as well as trained the customer’s personnel to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the system.
The project allowed JSC “Zaporizhstal” to significantly improve its technical capabilities, reduce risks of emergency situations, increase production efficiency and reduce energy costs.
